November Thoughts
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where it's challenging to feel grateful? We all understand the importance of practicing gratitude, knowing that there's always something to be thankful for in every circumstance. However, it can be quite a struggle when you're deep in the midst of difficult times. I recently faced a situation where finding room for gratitude felt impossible and unimaginable.
We are vessels of information, emotion, and reasoning, and usually, we can maintain a balance that keeps us afloat in our lives. But what happens when one of these aspects weighs us down more than the others, making it difficult to navigate life in a healthy and balanced way?
After much frustration, introspection, and agony, I finally pinpointed the source of my discontent. I realized I was holding on too tightly to expectations and outcomes. In my desperate attempts to manage and control everything, I found it nearly impossible to experience contentment and gratitude.
By constantly dwelling on "what if" and "if only," I was blinded to the possibilities. Once I let go of my emotional need to control outcomes and the actions of those around me, I started to see space opening up. I stopped worrying about what people were thinking, saying, and doing and instead focused on being present and appreciating all that I have and everything around me.
In BUDIKA, we conclude our time together with three breaths. The first breath is for ourselves, the second is for others, and the third is to release what no longer serves us. I took my third breath and let go of the need to control outcomes. I wanted to make space for the life I am currently living, for which I am truly grateful.
I want to express my gratitude to my family and friends for their unwavering support in bringing MBDY + be into existence.
I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the support of my husband and kids. Thank you, Roger, Connie, Ethan, and Lucia. Your patience over the past seven years has allowed me to pursue my dreams.
I also want to extend my thanks to our team: Brooke, Beth, Shannon, Samara, Megan, Ashley, Anita, Rachel, Jamie, Aj, Alison, Nicole, Crystal, and Tia. I am incredibly grateful for your creativity and the countless hours of hard work you've dedicated to our little studio.
As we enter the holiday season, I encourage you to let go and create space for gratitude.
With warmth and gratitude,
Elease
