March Thoughts
“We thought life was a journey, but it’s a musical thing, and we were supposed to dance and sing while the music was being played.”
-Alan Watts
March has arrived, and with it, what feels like more chaos. I began writing my monthly message last week before the war against Ukraine began. I was in the mindset that we were moving through the pandemic and arriving on the other side as if life was a linear experience. I was feeling enthusiastic and energized with the possibility of moving back into normalcy. I was focused on the future and how life would be better in a few weeks, months, or even a year. But that thought process kept me from experiencing the present moment. I was focused on what will be when the future arrives. I have since opened to the possibility that life should be experienced in circles and cycles. Accepting the pleasure and sometimes the difficult lessons of the present moment.
As we come back to normalcy, let us stay present. Present with ourselves, the current needs of our families, and our community. And how we can support those that currently have a present reality that is difficult and life-changing. Let’s not take any moment, positive word, lesson, or action for granted. Be in the moment and take it all in.
Life is a dance that is to be experienced and enjoyed while we are dancing.
With gratitude, love, and support,
Elease
