July Thoughts with Amber
The week of Independence Day, I encourage you to become more independent. Emotionally independent. When our emotional state is influenced by the words or actions of others, we place our very happiness in the hands of others.
What if your emotional state was completely independent of what anyone else said or did? What if you held the reigns to your own emotional well-being?
When our sense of worth is based on how others treat us, we end up on the road to hurt, frustration, and resentment.
Let’s get off that road. Take the path to emotional independence.
We can become emotionally independent from the actions of others. We can become emotionally independent from the expectations of others. We can become emotionally independent from the judgment of others.
Remember, we model how to treat us by the way we treat ourselves.
Be kind to yourself. Respect yourself. Celebrate yourself.
When you are emotionally independent, you hold the reigns to your own happiness. And you, my friend, deserve to be happy.
