July Thoughts

July 2021 feels much different than July 2020.  Last year we longed to be free from pandemic stress and restrictions.  And now we can “freely move about the cabin.”  With most, if not all, restrictions lifted or soon to be lifted; we have the freedom to make life decisions that are best for our unique situation.

The freedom from pandemic restriction came suddenly, but our freedom to make daily choices to show up with courage, strength, and grace has always been available. Of course, we may feel stress or discomfort as we come out of lockdowns and heavy restrictions, and that is OK. Just remember that you control how you live your life and how you choose to show up.

Let’s stop for a moment and reflect on what it means to have freedom.  On the most basic level, It means that we’re in control of our thoughts, actions, and reactions.  And what a gift to have the freedom to be the agent of our own lives.  Every day, we face opportunities to use that agency to design and shift our experiences and daily activities into personal and community growth.  When we exercise the freedom to live our authentic lives, we balance our lives and those around us.

I hope that we will support each other as we live authentically and embody our freedom to make daily choices that work for each of us.
