April Thoughts
We live in a climate where we don't have dark winters. The seasons are not as clearly defined as in other parts of our nation. But we still live with a biological need for segmented parts of the year that signal things to begin, move on, or change.
When we are kids in school, spring means that the school year is almost over, and someone was smart enough to plan a week or, in some cases, two, of vacation. This break allowed us to return with enough juice to finish the school year and break for summer.
But as adults, how do we use the cycles of the season to temper and balance our yearly schedule? What does spring mean as an adult when life can feel like the perpetual hamster wheel?
The prominent and usual traditions of spring cleaning, airing out the house, cleaning out the closets, and refreshing parts of our environment have been used a bit more as we spend more time inside and are the first to come to mind. So what would this exercise look like if we were to spring-clean our daily lives, relationship, and long-term goals?
How much clutter, old patterns, and language do we have to clear out, creating space for only that which will create balance and joy in our lives and relationships?
It’s not an easy process. Be honest as you sort through the items in your life. Don’t let obligation or guilt cloud the decision-making process. Clearing out and letting go can leave you feeling empty and vulnerable. But, on the other hand, it allows you to focus on what you want to call in.
You deserve an open, clear-of-clutter, and cared-for heart, mind, and soul.
HAPPY SPRING!
With Gratitude,
Elease
