Megan Maranda

Megan’s love for dance began at the fun age of three. Since then, she has trained classically in ballet, jazz, and modern. She bourréed and boogied all the way through college, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of California, Irvine under the direction of David Allan and the instruction of Larry Rosenberg, Leslie Peck, Eloy Barragan, Bonnie Oda Homsey, Lisa Naugle and Bob Boross, just to name a few. While at UCI, she was awarded an ArtsBridge scholarship which enabled her to bring dance into public schools in Huntington Beach. It was this experience that sparked the fire to teach. She has been teaching dance consistently since 2011 to all ages - from 18 months old through adult - and to all levels. Megan's classes combine a strong emphasis on technique, alignment and artistry. The most rewarding part of teaching, especially in the warm and inviting community that MBDY+be fosters, is seeing a student find that inner dancer and confidence, then watching them pull it out and share it with the world - what an honor to be a part of that moment.

Megan also holds a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification, practices Pilates regularly, and is a proud dancer and choreographer of BellaLux Entertainment. When outside the studio, Megan stays busy mothering two amazing boys, making jewelry, playing all the sports, picking up random hobbies (double dutch jump rope anyone?), planning family adventures, dancing in her head, and teaching creative movement to preschoolers.
