February Thoughts
Why do we pause? I pondered this question as we entered 2024.
We pause when we're tired and need rest. We pause when the chaos becomes overwhelming, seeking quiet amidst internal and external noise to hear our own voices. We pause when listening to instructions or information, and when unsure of our next steps, seeking inspiration.
In the final months of 2023, I lost the ability to pause, failing to recognize it. As 2024 rushed in, I found myself unable to halt, evaluate, or chart a path for the new year. Wrestling with guilt for not scheduling my calendar, making resolutions, or shedding negative habits and behaviors, I questioned if I was failing, letting myself and others down by not acknowledging necessary changes and following through.
Instead of making a resolution in January, I chose to pause. I needed to rest my body and mind. Though I adore the holidays, I craved the quietude that follows the joyful chaos, providing space for introspection. I sought calm to hear the universe's whispers and draw inspiration from our studio community and my family at home.
In this pause, I found my 2024 resolution: to sustain my journey, adjusting course as needed while embracing moments of stillness.
I encourage you to slow down and savor the life you've curated. Take breaks as necessary, pause, and remain receptive to the messages that come your way. Trust yourself—you know what to do.
With Gratitude,
Elease
